What are your every day, must-reads, online or off?
Every morning I start off my day with by grabbing my iPad. I read my blog mail and go through my Google reader. I am an avid reader who recently finished the 50 Shades of Grey series (like most of the population). I am currently reading Private Games by James Patterson. I get most of my news alerts through Twitter.
You started running relatively recently. What do you love about running? How should people know before they start running?
Where do to start! I love the feeling that I get after a good run (runners high). There is nothing better than endorphin’s running through your body.
Here are the two things I always tell people when they start running and look for advice.
1. You are faster than the person sitting on their couch. Do not compare your time to another runner. There will always be someone faster than you and you will always be faster than someone else. Keep up with your comfortable pace and don’t get discouraged.
2. STRETCH! I cannot stress that enough. Stretch before and after you run – it prevents injury. Here are the 5 key stretches suggested for runners.
You also love a good glass of wine! What would you pair a nice red with?
I do love wine During the summer, I am more of a white wine drinker. If I have the craving for a glass of red, I usually get Sangria. Once the FL heat cools down, there is nothing better than a nice glass of Petite Syrah or Pinot Noir. I love homemade Pasta with my red wine. My favorite is a recipe I found in People Magazine a while back. It is quick, fresh and healthy.
If you could give your 16 year old self advice, what would you say?
You may think you are in love with that guy but you really aren’t…so stop wasting your life on him! Also, those popular kids are not going to matter in 5 years. Don’t try to be someone you aren’t to appease them.
Although you do not realize it now, you currently know the love of your life. He is your friends little brother (No, this does not mean you are a cougar!). You may not connect with him until you are 30 so enjoy your life!
Your perfect day. What would it look like?
Tropical Island with my best friend, umbrella drink in hand, with cute servers wading in the water to bring us refills as we float in the crystal clear water. (That would be at Coco Cay in the Bahamas – real life)
