This summer, my family and I were lucky enough to visit La Rochelle, France. Of course, we wore our much-loved Karina dresses for much of the trip! My 15-year-old daughter Daisy particularly loves hers
Here are Daisy’s thoughts about our trip:
Our third town in France, we arrived in La Rochelle early evening and walked around the town for a bit before returning to our flat, just off the main street. The following morning, we waited for breakfast to eat at a small cafe that we’d seen the night earlier, serving the most amazing smelling waffles ever. We each got one and tried to keep our dresses as safe as possible from the mounds of Nutella and caramel on top of the gauffres, spilling over the sides. We barely managed to finish them.
As part of a seaside town, we walked along the harbour for a bit, and although it was a little chilly we wore our dresses and we weren’t too cold. We were dragged by my little brother to the aquarium in the early afternoon. We were particularly attracted to the clownfish and Tang fish (Nemo and Dory), and Charlie, if let loose, would have spent hours looking at the sharks and baby whale sharks.
After an annoyingly disappointing dinner in a restaurant along the harbour (steer clear of La Brasserie Des Dames in La Rochelle) we went back to the flat and hung out as lazy people, as usual.
The next morning and it’s off to the next town again!
