Two Ways to Style a V Neck Dress

Kelly TomilsonKelly Tomlinson is the writer and photographer behind Texas Type A Mom. She lives in Austin with her husband of 13 years, two precocious daughters, and English Bulldog, Dude. When she’s not working (and even when she is), Kelly’s wearing her Karina Audrey while baking sweet treats, on beach vacations, and watching football. You can find her on Twitter, and Pinterest.

When shopping for new clothes style, fit, and price are definitely most important for me.  I make a real effort to purchase pieces that are versatile and can be worn a variety of ways.  No one wants to wear the same outfit, the same way every time they put it on.  This is really important to me too because I almost always opt for quality pieces over quantity.

My most recent find was the a new Karina Audrey in a super trendy plaid pattern.  What’s not to love about this v neck dress?  I have an hourglass figure so the v-neck plays up my cleavage, accentuates my waist, and the full swirl knee-length dress camouflages my hips.  But this dress isn’t just for those with hourglass figures, it’s also a great option for inverted triangles, triangles, ovals, and rectangles.

I find that accessorizing a knee-length dress, is so much easier in the cooler months.  You have so many more possibilities for coordinating your look and adding extra layers for even more interest.  I’ve only had the Karina Audrey for a few weeks now and I’ve already worn it twice in two completely different ways!

Here’s how I’ve styled my knee length v neck dress…

In the look above I felt so glamorous and feminine.  I channeled my inner 1950’s housewife with the accessories and chose a thin black headband, simple diamond hoop earrings, a silver necklace, and black peep toe heels.

My second time wearing the dress, a cold front had descended on Texas and staying warm yet still on point fashion-wise was my priority.  Here I’m wearing the same silver necklace as above with the length slightly adjusted, a 3/4 length red cardigan, rhinestone bangles, black tights, and knee high black boots.

Styling a knee-length dress like the Karina Audrey is so simple.  Selecting a patterned dress may seem like it limits your options but I assure you there are plenty of styling options available! You can find the featured v neck dress, Audrey, at our online store!
