Karina Chronicles

Meet the Model: Kiersten Greene

Another day, another lovely, REAL woman we are proud to call a member of the Karina family! Kiersten is a college professor and a mom to an adorable two year old. We just love her funky style and eclectic accessories! Read more about her below, and click on any of the photos to shop what she's wearing.

Your personal style is fabulous! How would you describe it?

My personal style is a mash up of times past -- a mixture of mod patterns and a-line skirts with secretary dresses and a good 80s puffed sleeve. I love mixing patterns and bright colors, have a definite thing for plaid, and have been known to pair fabrics in unconventional ways. Many of my clothes come from second-hand shops and are altered in some way -- I'm always letting down hems or adding buttons to mix things up a little. Shoes and earrings are my favorite accessories, and I'm always on the lookout for neat vintage glasses frames.

Love it! Which Karina style is your favorite?

I first bought a Lauren 10 years ago now, and I still wear it!! But lately, Katharine is my staple -- it's got perfect lines and hits me right at the knee, which feels sensible enough for work and playful enough for the weekend. And Ruby might be my new favorite -- I often have to pin wrap dresses because the v goes too low, but the Ruby neckline hits a bit higher than most wrap dresses, which I like.

What do you do for work?

I'm a college professor, and teach teachers how to teach. Karina dresses are the perfect uniform, rain or shine, snow or sun.

Thank you! We love making things easier for you. What do you like to do on the weekends?

An ideal Saturday includes a walk on the Walkway over the Hudson with my family, chasing my two-year-old around the yard, cooking, and getting lost in a good book.

Any hobbies or interest you would like to share?

My grandmother taught me to crochet and knit when I was 5, and I've been doing so ever since. I've made hundreds of sweaters, hats, scarves, legwarmers, blankets, tea cozies -- you name it. If it can be made out wool, I've probably made it! I don't blog that much these days, but you can see some of my projects at brookerhollow.com.

If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

If I could travel anywhere, it would probably be to space. Before I decided to become an educator, I was kind of obsessed with becoming an astronaut!

Thanks, Kiersten!
