It’s that wonderful time of the week again to meet a funny, inspiring lady full of glam and glitz… introducing Laura Michael Bamburak!

Name: Laura Michael Bamburak
Age: 30
Location: Baltimore, MD
Online homes: Buyers Market of American Crafts, BMAC on FB, BMAC on twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
Favorite Karina dress: Too hard to pick just one!

What are your every day, must-reads, online or off?
I always check out the craftzine.com blog, and I’m constantly checking out our current artists websites and browsing the web for more.

I always check out what’s new at Etsy, and love when I start to read an artist’s blog and it links me to more and more incredible sites.

You work with one of the largest trade shows that connects independent designers and artisans with big retailers.  What are some of your favorite trends that you’re seeing this year?
Repurposed and recycled materials being used as wearable goods, some incredible new work geared towards baby/kids, high end jewelry and home décor-a whole design aesthetic we like to call “modern heirlooms”.

Can you tell us about some of the craziest products you’ve seen at the show?
Nothing too crazy, but ingenious for sure. The array of materials that are completely transformed is always impressive and inspiring.

You obviously have a crazy-busy work life!  How do you find balance?
I love what I do, and I’m working one on one with so many amazing individuals. When you begin to know the art and artist personally, you become invested.  American Craft becomes a part of your life.

Your perfect day.  What would it look like?
I couldn’t say, I am continually surprised by how so many moments of so many days turn out unexpectedly perfect.  I’m completely ok and very grateful that the universe keeps me humble and keeps me on my toes.

Thanks for your insights, Laura!
