What are your every day, must-reads, online or off?

I have hundreds of blogs on my Google Reader, but some of my favorites are Forbes Womanthe GrindstoneYoung House LoveThe Beauty DepartmentUnder the SycamoresSociological Images and Catalog Living.

You recently transitioned from a fashion blog to a more personal/professional blog.  Can you tell us more about that?

I started my fashion blog, The New Professional, in March 2010 to showcase my business casual outfits and offer professional advice to other young professionals navigating their way through the office. In summer 2011, I quit my job to move across the country and decided to pursue self-employment instead of looking for another office job. Without the constraints of an office dress code, the fashion blog became obsolete, but I love blogging so I’m bringing my professional advice posts and adding some personal interests and business-related topics to the mix on my new blog. It’s still very much a work in progress, but that’s what my life is at this point, so it works for me.

You’re a freelancer.  What fashion advice would you give to other freelancers?

That is a great question! I’m a total newbie, so I’m still learning as well. I think the biggest thing I’ve learned is that you should have fun with fashion. Not having a dress code doesn’t have to mean dressing down all the time; you can dress up just for the fun of it!

Your perfect day.  What would it look like?

Sun, ocean, fancy pizza and french fries, art galleries, cute shops and good conversation. Basically a Saturday in South Beach (when I’m in Florida) or Santa Monica/Venice (when I’m in California). And my hair would be fabulous, of course.

Thanks for sharing, Angeline!

“The next time I read a blog, Hopefully it won’t fail me as much as this particular one. I mean, Yes, it was my choice to read through, but I really thought you would probably have something helpful to say. All I hear is a bunch of complaining about something that you could possibly fix if you were not too busy searching for attention.”
