Based out of New York City and Canada, Cinny is the mommy to JR and Baby Pom. When not working or studying full time, she can be found working on Whirlwind of Surprises or cuddling with her hubby and playing with her dogs. She shines in the warm company of friends and family and enjoys playing with her 3 little nephews.
Have you ever hated wearing the same thing to work as you do out for happy hour right afterwards? It’s kind of “bleh,” right? Well, I’ve got some quick and easy tips for you to make that happy hour transition seamless and gorgeous!
1) Versatility
Versatile items save time, while looking great. One of my favorite clothing pieces to wear are dresses and skirts since you can toss on a cardigan for the work look and then take it off when you’re ready to head out. The Ana skirt by Karina Dresses makes a great versatile addition to my work wardrobe. Sweater on = work. Sweater off = happy hour!
2) Accessorize
Accessories can be a girl’s best friend. The right application of your accessories are key for the transition of your office/day look to an chic evening look. Use jewelry, clutches, fashion belts and shoes to change your image. I tend to go with minimal jewelry during the day but I love my earrings and bracelets when I go out. Consider keeping an accessories bag with jewelry/shoes/dress clothes in your car trunk so that you have options.
3) Go bold
Go for neutral makeup during the day, and use bold colors in the evening for a more dramatic look- you gotta love those smokey eyes! By applying a little extra smokey shadow, or a bright red lipstick, you can add a bit of cocktail glamor in a New York minute. Be sure not to over do it though. You’ll want to keep the focus on you, and not the make-up.
