Karina Chronicles

Black Her-story Month – Alison Stewart on Dunbar High School

Great minds think alike. Birds of a feather flock together. Two peas in a pod. Anyway, you catch my meaning. In honor of African-American History Month 2014, we wanted to share an experience related to us recently  by a Karina dress fan, Alison Stewart. Alison  is an award-winning (Emmy and Peabody, to be exact)  journalist whose latest book – First Class: The Legacy of Dunbar, America’s First Black Public High School – is a true gem. And obviously very topical this month as the nation celebrates Black History Month.

Back in December she was invited to be on the Katie Couric Show to talk about her new book. And what did she wear for such a grand occasion? Come on, (wo)man!!! She wore her favorite Karina dress of course. And Katie high-fived her for the book. (And maybe for the dress).

We really enjoyed hearing about this experience, and we are so buying the book- you should too. Buy it now!
